At a glance

A summary to help you find your way. The full terms below are what count.

Free to use

Search, draw, pin a destination, save up to five maps and share as often as you like, with no account.

Premium is a subscription

Billed by Apple and renews automatically. Cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings.

Your maps are yours

You own what you create. We store it only if you turn on backup, and only to give it back to you.

Drawings aren't directions

Map data can be wrong, and lines are sketches, not checked routes. Use your own judgment.

Share responsibly

Only share places and other people's whereabouts that you have the right to share.

Apple's terms apply too

Section 20 has the terms Apple requires for apps from the App Store.

Section 1 Agreeing to these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and OZ, Çanakkale, Türkiye (“we”, “us”, “our”), the developer of Draw on a Map & Share (“the app”).

By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. If you don't agree to these Terms, please don't use the app.

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Section 20 explains what that means.

Section 2 Who can use the app

You can use the app if you're able to enter a binding agreement where you live. If you aren't, you can use it with the permission of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms for you. When you use the app, follow the laws that apply to you and the App Store's rules.

Section 3 Your license to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions allow. We keep all rights we don't expressly give you.

You may not:

  • copy, modify or distribute the app, or make works based on it;
  • sell, rent, lend or sublicense the app;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
  • remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notices in the app.

Section 4 Free features and Premium

Free

Without paying or signing in, you can currently search and browse standard and satellite maps, see your location when you ask, place a destination pin, draw with the pen and arrows in four colors (solid or dashed), undo, redo, erase, move and delete drawings, save up to five maps alongside the map you're working on, and share as often as you like, with no watermark.

Premium

Premium currently adds more pins per map, the highlighter, circles, boxes and text labels, custom colors and line widths, unlimited saved maps, folders and duplicates, and cloud backup and sync. The app shows which features are part of Premium before you buy.

We may improve, change or remove features over time. If we remove a major Premium feature while you're subscribed, you can cancel (section 5) and ask Apple for a refund under Apple's policies.

Section 5 Subscriptions and billing

In short: Premium renews automatically through Apple until you cancel. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

  • Plans. Premium is an auto-renewable subscription with weekly and yearly plans. Both include the same features. The app shows each plan's price and length before you buy.
  • Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase or, if you start with a free trial, when the trial ends.
  • Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same length and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Free trial. A plan may include a free trial for new subscribers. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it becomes a paid subscription and you're charged. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, the unused part of the trial ends.
  • Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or from Manage Subscription in the app when it offers it. Cancelling stops future renewals, and Premium stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel a subscription.
  • Price changes. If a price changes, Apple tells you in advance and, where its rules require, asks for your agreement before renewing at the new price.
  • Refunds. Apple handles all payments, so refunds come from Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves. This doesn't affect your rights under consumer law, such as the right of withdrawal in the EU and UK, which Apple handles for App Store purchases.
  • Restoring. Restore Purchases brings Premium back on another device signed in to the same Apple Account. Premium isn't available through Family Sharing.
  • Checking your subscription. The app confirms your subscription with Apple on your device. If it can't confirm it for a while, for example after a long time offline, Premium tools may be paused until it can. Your maps aren't affected.

Section 6 If Premium ends

You keep everything you made:

  • Your maps, folders and Premium drawings stay. You can still view, select, remove and share them. Until you subscribe again, you can't add new Premium items or restyle existing ones.
  • Saved maps beyond the free five stay saved. To save another new map, you'll need fewer than five saved maps or Premium.
  • Cloud backup stops uploading changes. Your cloud copies stay, and you can still download or delete them.

Section 7 Accounts and cloud backup

  • Accounts are optional. The app creates a private account when you tap to buy Premium, and you can sign in with Apple to use cloud backup. Keep your Apple Account secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Backup is a convenience, not a guarantee. We work to keep cloud backup reliable, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and data can be lost. Your maps also stay on your device until you delete them, so keep the copies that matter.
  • Limits. Each map has limits, for example on the number of pins and drawings, to keep the app fast and the service reliable.
  • Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time (Settings › Account › Delete Account…), and the Privacy Policy explains what's deleted.
  • If we stop offering backup. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice through the app or its release notes where we can. The maps on your device will stay.

Section 8 Your content

  • You own the maps, drawings, notes and other things you create in the app (“your content”). We claim no ownership of it.
  • If you turn on cloud backup, you give us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, copy and transmit your content, only as needed to back it up and sync it to your devices. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
  • You're responsible for your content and for what you share, including places, addresses and information about other people. Make sure you have the right to share it.
  • We don't review your content, and the app doesn't publish your maps. They're shared only through the apps you choose.

Section 9 Acceptable use

Please don't use the app to:

  • stalk, harass, threaten or intimidate anyone, or share someone's location, home or whereabouts without their permission
  • break the law or help someone else break it, including privacy, property and trespass laws
  • mislead people about a place or a route in a way that could put them in danger
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights
  • access other people's accounts or data, use our cloud service other than through the app, or test its security without our permission
  • get around Premium, purchase checks, limits or security, for example with a modified app
  • overload, disrupt or attack the service, or access it with bots or scripts
  • copy or extract map data, imagery or search results outside the app's normal features, or use them in ways Apple's terms don't allow

We may limit or end access to cloud features for accounts that break these rules (section 15).

Section 10 Maps, locations and safety

The app is for sketching and sharing, not for navigation. Lines you draw are annotations, not verified routes.

  • Map data, imagery, search results and addresses come from Apple and its data providers. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Map data © Apple and its data providers.
  • Lines, arrows and notes are drawn by people. The app doesn't check that a route exists, or that it's passable, legal or safe, and it doesn't give turn-by-turn directions.
  • Your device's location can be inaccurate, especially indoors or with approximate location turned on.
  • Always use your own judgment. Follow road signs, traffic laws, closures and private-property rules, and stay aware of your surroundings. Don't use the app while driving, or in any way that distracts you from what you're doing.
  • Don't rely on the app in an emergency or where a mistake could cause injury, damage or loss. Contact the emergency services instead.

Section 11 Sharing

  • You choose what to share and who to share it with. Images, messages and links go through the apps you pick, under those apps' terms.
  • Once sent, a share can't be taken back, and the people who receive it can save and forward it. Before you send, check the preview, including the place name, the note and the location link.
  • Location links open in Apple Maps or, if you turn it on, Google Maps. Both have their own terms.

Section 12 Third-party services

The app relies on services from Apple (MapKit, the App Store and StoreKit, Sign in with Apple, App Attest) and Google (Firebase). When you use them through the app, their terms also apply, for example the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, the Apple Maps terms and, for Google Maps links, the Google Maps terms. We don't control these services and aren't responsible for their content, availability or changes, but we'll work to keep the app running when they change.

Section 13 Intellectual property

  • The app, including its name, icon, design, code and artwork, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms don't give you any right to use our name or branding.
  • Map data and imagery belong to Apple and its data providers.
  • If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely and owe you nothing for them.

Section 14 Changes to the app and these terms

  • We may update the app, change or remove features, or stop offering it. We might do this to improve it, for legal or security reasons, or because a service it relies on changes.
  • We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we'll tell you in the app's release notes before they take effect. If you keep using the app after that, the updated Terms apply. If you don't agree with them, stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
  • No change takes away a refund or another right you already have under consumer law.

Section 15 Ending this agreement

  • You can stop using the app at any time. Delete your account and the app, and cancel your subscription with Apple.
  • We may suspend or end your access to cloud features, or to the app, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users or the service. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first. The maps on your device stay.
  • The sections that by their nature should continue after this agreement ends will continue, including sections 8, 13 and 16 to 20.

Section 16 Disclaimers

We work hard to make the app useful and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in these Terms. That includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app or cloud backup will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data will never be lost.

If you're a consumer, you have legal rights that these Terms can't change. Nothing in these Terms affects them.

Section 17 Limitation of liability

  • To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, that arise from using the app or being unable to use it.
  • To the extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim, and (b) USD 10.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited. For example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Section 18 Governing law and disputes

  • Talk to us first. If you have a problem with the app, email us. Most issues can be sorted out quickly, and we'll try to resolve yours within 30 days.
  • Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts and enforcement offices of Çanakkale, Türkiye have jurisdiction, except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live.
  • Consumers. If you're a consumer living in the EU, the UK or another country with mandatory consumer protections, you keep those protections, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. Consumers in Türkiye can also apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committees (Tüketici Hakem Heyetleri) or the Consumer Courts under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502.

Section 19 General

  • Whole agreement. These Terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the app. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information, and Apple's terms also apply to your App Store purchases.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect.
  • No waiver. If we don't enforce a right, we haven't given it up.
  • Transfer. You may not transfer these Terms to someone else. We may transfer them if the app is sold or reorganized, without reducing your rights.
  • Language. These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and the two differ, the English version applies unless the law requires otherwise.

Section 20 App Store terms (required by Apple)

Because you got the app from Apple's App Store, these terms also apply. If anything in them conflicts with the rest of these Terms, these terms prevail.

  1. Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  2. Scope of license. Your license to the app is a non-transferable license to use it on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. The app may also be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing. Premium itself isn't available through Family Sharing.
  3. Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the app (section 21). Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
  4. Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they aren't effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to a warranty are our sole responsibility.
  5. Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims from you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation. These Terms don't limit our liability to you beyond what applicable law permits.
  6. Intellectual property claims. If a third party claims that the app, or your possession and use of it, infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  7. Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you aren't located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (ii) you aren't listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Developer contact. Send any questions, complaints or claims about the app to us: OZ, Çanakkale, Türkiye, thehelloworld.apps@gmail.com.
  9. Third-party terms. When you use the app, you must comply with any applicable third-party terms, such as your mobile data service agreement.
  10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
