Privacy Policy
Convert Video to Photo has no server, no account and no analytics. Your videos are opened, scrubbed and exported entirely on your device, and nothing you put into the app is ever sent anywhere.
At a glance
No data collected
The app's privacy manifest declares no collected data types and no tracking domains. There is nothing on our side to hold.
Nothing is uploaded
Frames are decoded and encoded on device. The only network connection is Apple's own, made by the App Store for purchases.
No account, ever
No sign-in, no email address, no profile. The app works the moment you open it and forgets you when you delete it.
Add-only photo access
The app can add the photos it saves to your library. It never asks for permission to read what is already in it.
What we collect
Nothing. Convert Video to Photo does not collect, receive, store or transmit any personal information about you. There is no server behind this app to send anything to: everything it does — importing a video, stepping through it frame by frame, cropping, rotating, encoding and saving — happens on your device.
No name, no email address, no phone number, no contacts, no location, no device identifier and no advertising identifier reach us. The app sends us no crash report and no usage statistic, because it has nowhere to send one to. We do not build a profile of you, because we have nothing to build one from.
The one network connection the app relies on is Apple's. When you open the subscription screen or make a purchase, iOS talks to the App Store on the app's behalf, under Apple's Privacy Policy. The app itself contacts no other service.
Apple also reports aggregate figures to us as the app's developer, which is the one thing on this page that isn't “nothing” — Tracking, ads and third parties says exactly what those are.
Your videos and photos
Your media is the whole point of the app, and it is also the thing it is most careful with.
- Choosing a video. Videos are picked through the system photo picker, which runs outside the app in its own process. The app receives only the single item you chose. It never requests permission to read your photo library, and it cannot browse it.
- Extracting a frame. Decoding happens on device with Apple's AVFoundation, at your video's native resolution. No frame is uploaded for processing, and there is no watermarking, enhancement or conversion service anywhere in the pipeline.
- Saving a photo. The app holds add-only photo library permission. It can place the frames you export into your library and can do nothing else there — it cannot read, edit or delete anything.
- Sharing a frame. Share hands the finished photo to iOS's own share sheet, and from there it goes wherever you send it. That destination — a message, another app, a cloud service — is your choice and is covered by that service's privacy policy, not by this one. Nothing about it passes through us.
- Working files. An import is copied, and each save is staged, into the app's own private temporary directory. Exported frames are moved into your photo library rather than duplicated, and any leftovers are swept away the next time the app launches. These files are inside the app's sandbox, where no other app can reach them.
You keep every right in your own media. We never see it, so we can make no claim to it and no use of it.
What stays on your device
The app remembers a small number of settings so it behaves the way you left it. All of it is written to the app's own private preferences, all of it stays on the device, and all of it is removed when you delete the app.
| Free save ledger | A date and a small count, so the app knows whether today's free save has been used. |
|---|---|
| Export defaults | Your last chosen format (HEIC, JPEG or PNG), the quality setting and whether 2× upscale is on. |
| Appearance | Whether you asked for light, dark, or the system setting. |
| Language | The language you picked, stored in the same per-app setting iOS itself uses, plus a copy of your device's own language order so the “Automatic” row can name it. |
None of this identifies you, none of it is transmitted, and none of it is tied to an account. If your device backs itself up to iCloud or to a computer, the app's container may be included in that backup under your own backup settings — that backup is yours and is governed by Apple's terms, not by ours.
Subscriptions and payment
Video to Photo Pro PRO is sold through Apple, and Apple handles the entire transaction. Payment is taken by Apple, from your Apple Account, using the details Apple already holds.
- We never see and never receive your name, email address, billing address, card number or any other payment detail.
- The app asks the operating system a single question — whether an active subscription exists on this Apple Account — and receives yes or no.
- Restoring a purchase re-asks that same question. It does not create an account or send us anything.
Apple's handling of your purchase is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
Tracking, ads and third parties
There is no tracking in this app, in any sense of the word. It contains no advertising, no analytics package, no attribution kit, no crash reporter and no third-party SDKs of any kind. Nothing you do in it is measured, scored or shared.
Because nothing is tracked, the app never shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt — there is nothing to ask you about. Its privacy manifest declares tracking as false with an empty list of tracking domains, and its only declared API use is reading and writing the app's own settings.
What Apple may show us
One thing does reach us, and it does not come from the app. Every developer on the App Store has an App Store Connect account, and Apple reports figures there: downloads, sales, subscription counts, and — if you have left Share With App Developers switched on in your device's analytics settings — aggregated crash logs and usage measurements for this app.
Those reports are prepared by Apple, are aggregated across everyone who uses the app, and identify nobody. We cannot tell from them who you are, what videos you opened or what you saved. You control that sharing yourself, for every app at once, in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
We do not sell, share, rent, trade or disclose personal information, for the straightforward reason that we do not have any.
Children
The app is safe for users of any age: it collects no data at all, and therefore collects no data from children. It is not directed at children specifically, and it contains no advertising, no social features and no user-generated content shared with anyone.
Purchases are made through the Apple Account signed in on the device. If you share a device with a child, Apple's Screen Time and Ask to Buy controls govern whether a purchase can be made.
Your rights
Privacy law in your region — including the GDPR and UK GDPR in Europe and the CCPA and CPRA in California — gives you rights to access, correct, port and delete the personal data a company holds about you, and to object to its processing.
We hold no personal data about you — the App Store figures under Tracking, ads and third parties are aggregated by Apple and identify nobody — so there is nothing for us to hand over, correct or erase, and no sale or sharing of personal information for you to opt out of. Everything the app keeps is on your device and under your control:
- Delete the app to remove every setting it stored, including the free-save ledger.
- Photos you saved stay in your photo library, because they are yours — remove them there if you no longer want them.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings, at any time.
You are welcome to write to us with a privacy question anyway, and we will answer it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page changes with it, and the previous wording is replaced rather than quietly amended. A change that materially affects how the app handles your information will also be described in that release's App Store notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
