Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and The Hello World Games (“we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your use of the World Map & Countries mobile application and all related features (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. By using the App you represent that you meet these requirements.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or create derivative works from the App.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices, or attempt to circumvent Premium gating, ad delivery, or usage limits.
• Use the App in any way that breaches these Terms or applicable law.

The App offers an optional Premium subscription that unlocks additional continents, premium map styles, unlimited AI messaging (subject to fair-use pacing), and removes all advertising. Premium is offered as an auto-renewing weekly subscription, which may include a free trial. Exact pricing and trial length are shown in the App and on Google Play at the time of purchase.

How billing works

• Payment is charged to your Google Play account upon confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal. The subscription automatically renews for successive weekly periods unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Free trial. If a trial is offered and you don’t cancel before it ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at the stated price. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Manage or cancel at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period already in effect.

We may change subscription pricing or features. Where required, we will give notice and any price change will apply only to future billing periods; you may cancel before it takes effect.

The App includes AI chat experiences (“Ask AI” and “Atlas AI”) powered by third-party AI models from OpenAI. When you use them, the text you enter is sent to the AI provider to generate a response, as described in our Privacy Policy.

• AI output can be wrong. Responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. They are provided for information and entertainment only and are not professional, legal, medical, financial, immigration, or travel advice.
• Verify before you rely. Always independently confirm important information (for example visa rules, safety, or travel requirements) with official sources before acting on it.
• Don’t submit sensitive data. Do not enter personal, financial, health, or confidential information into the AI chats.
• Use responsibly. You are responsible for how you use AI output and must not use the AI features to generate unlawful, harmful, infringing, or abusive content.

The App presents country facts, flags, maps, borders, and editorial descriptions for educational purposes. While we aim for accuracy, we make no guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Maps, borders, place names, and country groupings are shown for reference and general information only and do not represent any political position or endorsement by us regarding sovereignty, territory, or the status of any region.

When using the App, you agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
• Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, our systems, or the third-party services it relies on.
• Use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the App or generate excessive requests, or attempt to bypass rate limits, ads, or Premium restrictions.
• Introduce malware or attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system.
• Infringe the intellectual-property or other rights of us or any third party.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

The App and its content — including its design, user interface, text, graphics, the “Atlas” globe mascot, illustrations, code, and other materials — are owned by The Hello World Games or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Except for the limited license in section 03, no rights are granted to you.

Certain assets are provided by third parties under their own licenses, including flag artwork, country data, and map data (for example from Mapbox and Google Maps Platform). All trademarks and brand names are the property of their respective owners.

The App integrates third-party services — including OpenAI, Google (Firebase, AdMob, Maps, and Play Billing), and Mapbox — and may link to external websites. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, listed in our Privacy Policy. We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party services, and their inclusion does not imply endorsement.

The free version of the App is supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. By using the free version, you agree that ads may be displayed. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or for any products or services they promote. Subscribing to Premium removes all ads.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Hello World Games and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any rights of a third party, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App (or any feature) at any time if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the App, with or without notice where permitted by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will continue to apply. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as required by the Google Play refund policy or applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which The Hello World Games is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Where you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms deprives you of those rights. Before pursuing a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter informally.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the App or the law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App or on Google Play. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.
